What should I do the day of the examination?

• Avoid beverages with caffeine and sugar.
• Fast for four (4) hours prior to the exam, except for plain water and medications.
• Bring your CTs and other prior films.
• Bring your insurance cards.

What preparation is needed?

• Tell your doctor if you are diabetic or think you may be pregnant.
  If you are a diabetic, please bring your medication with you.
  
• Take your prescribed medications on the day of the test unless instructed otherwise.
• Leave your valuables at home.
• Wear your hearing aid, glasses or dentures to the scan.
• Dress warmly and comfortably.
• If you are having a cardiac viability study, please call the PET Center @ (408) 358-6881, for further instructions.

What if I cannot make my appointment?

• doses must be ordered and /or canceled a day in advance.
• Give 24-hour notice for appointment cancellation, or a charge will apply.
